Humber College kicked off International Women’s Day with a special presentation from MTV’s former Host, Jessie Cruickshank. Jessie spoke about her rise through acting by becoming the first girl to be a member of her High School improv team as well as leadership on campus becoming President of her College. She also spoke about the challenges of being a Woman in the spotlight, including the overabundance of attention on her appearance, to working with Men whose expectations did not view her role as being equal. Critical to the conversation was Jessie’s experience living abroad in the rural areas in Africa and India and offered Humber students to make a difference in whatever capacity their studies may bring them. Jessie also shared her support for Making Noise @Humber and encouraged students to get involved in this legacy project!
